Digital restoration of a 1940 Oil on paper/board painting of a cottage on Forest Lake in Winchester, NH. This restoration repairs the major holes in the painting while leaving the age cracks in the paint.
In this image, the original colors were restored, dust and speckles removed and a decorative edge was applied.
For this image, I wanted the Owl to stand out, from the uninteresting background. I first corrected the colors and then used my artist tools to paint the background using a wet on wet watercolor technique while not touching the owl.
